NAME: Rohan J Reid
AGE: 36
OFFSEASON WEIGHT: 105 kg
COMPETITION WEIGHT: Under 90 kg, wherever it falls
MARITAL STATUS: In a crazy relationship
OCCUPATION: Hardcore personal trainer and motivator; bodybuilder
INTERESTS: Scuba diving: I intend training for dive instructor certification.
BEGAN TRAINING: When I was a little skinny teenager. My mate Turkish Andy and I made weights with all sorts of stuff we'd find around the back yard.
TRAINING PROGRAMME: Monday: Back, Tuesday: Chest, Wednesday: Off, Thursday: Shoulders and calves, Friday: Arms, Saturday: Legs, Sunday: Off or lifeguarding in summer
CURRENTLY TRAINS AT: My gym in South Melbourne: Body Matrix
FAVOURITE EXERCISE: It used to be squats. I really liked to move what were, for me, heavy poundages (I'm not that strong really), but Sam Ioannidis stopped me squatting. So now, after Ange Galati taught me to bench right, I really enjoy the bench press (which also means I get to lay down more).
REASON FOR STARTING TRAINING: I was a small, smart-mouthed boy from the burbs.
ROLE MODELS/INSPIRATION: Charlie Duca, Sam Ioannidis, Mick Scionti, my girlfriend (I love you honey!) and my family
PLANS AND AMBITIONS: To win Mr. Australia and of course to get bigger, better and stronger. I have competed consistently for the last three years in the under 90 kg class and this year I will be harder, leaner and better shaped than ever before. I plan to compete in both State and Nationals in 2008. With more knowledge and a revitalised nutrition plan, I am determined to push the boundaries further and beyond.
I WOULD LIKE TO THANK: My new sponsors, Elemental Nutrition: Peter and Paul, thank you for your support. There are so many people to thank, from the people who offer criticism and advice, to those who listen to my criticisms and advice. Most of all I have to thank all my supporters who approach me after a show, especially the old school like Rocco and co. I also want to thank my friends who drop by my gym and offer their time. Promoters, judges, photographers, supporters, clients: if I had to list names it would have to be alphabetical order, there are just so many and to miss one here in print… To all the people that have been associated with my bodybuilding over the years, thank you! You know who you are.
